At the Asian Film Archive, we have met volunteers who inspire us. They come from diverse backgrounds and contribute their knowledge and skills to help care for our film heritage. We are always looking for new volunteers who would like to join us in giving back to the community.
Volunteer applicants are regarded as highly as full-time employees. Prospective volunteer candidates will be interviewed and once selected, will receive training and opportunities to try a variety of jobs, depending on skills and interest. To thank volunteers for their efforts, the Archive offers them a chance to catch films and to attend talks, workshops, and tours whenever available.
In the current pandemic circumstances, the Archive has adopted safe-distancing measures and face-to-face activities have been kept to a minimum. As such, only select in-person volunteer opportunities are available. Listed below are some of the volunteer opportunities that you can consider:
|Cataloguing films||Weekly basis during office hours (Mon-Fri, 10am to 6pm) or remotely for selected tasks|
|Organising and archiving related materials|
|Creating preservation and access copies for titles in our collection|
|Photo and/or video event coverage of various activities; Credit acknowledgement should photo/video be utilised.||
||2-3 sessions/month, usually on weekday evenings and weekends|
|Writing articles on different events; Credit acknowledgement should articles be published.||
|Update different contact databases||
|Perform analytics on feedback||
