A Tree in Tanjung Malim won the Principal Prize at the 51st Oberhausen International Film Festival and is a fictional autobiography of the filmmaker’s youth; Company of Mushrooms is a story of a boozy gathering of friends; South of South is a film about the Chinese diasporas and how centuries of war and famines have made eating a ritual.
