High school dropout Sakura lives next to the US military base in Yamato with her mother and older brother. Heavily influenced by the American hip-hop culture, she dreams of becoming a famous rapper but struggles with her rhymes and confidence. She is forced to reflect on her aspirations when Rei, a young American teen lives with Sakura’s family for a short period.
Turning the lens to his hometown, Daisuke Miyazaki explores the impact that US military bases have on its Japanese residents.
