Synopsis

Three young people in Singapore lounge and idle their days away, their conversations swirling around travel and escape as they lethargically meet the onslaught of quarter-life crises. Daniel reels from a friend’s passing in an accident; Chris grasps with hope at a newfound religious fervour; and Vel slogs at the office, dreaming of going to Taiwan. Despite the bustling crowds and roads that can always be heard, time remains inert and unmoving. Serene, yet inescapable.

Carrying echoes of Taiwanese New Wave, this slice-of-life debut by Lei paints a semi-biographical image of youth for the director and his cast of peer filmmakers: Daniel Hui, Vel Ng and Yeo Siew Hua.
