Synopsis

The Voyage Of Emperor Chien Lung chronicles Emperor Chien Lung’s (Tony Liu) second excursion to the Southern Province of Yang Chow, joined by his loyal officials. Amidst the journey, the emperor’s playful banter with his companions, notably Liu Yung (Li Kun), sparks lighthearted challenges and witty exchanges. Along the way, the group faces off against local troublemakers, foils a gambling scheme, and encounters a remarkably accurate fortune teller who sees through the emperor’s incognito guise.

Wang Sha portrays a snarky barber who does not mince words while tending to the emperor’s hair, thus leading to some amusing moments.

《乾隆下扬州》是李翰祥执导的第二部《乾隆皇》电影。继《乾隆皇下江南》，清朝皇帝乾隆（刘永 饰）再次微服下扬州，这次由两位亲信陪同——大臣鄂容安（姜南 饰）与翰林院大学士刘墉（李昆 饰）。刘墉才思敏捷，能说会道，乾隆喜欢给他出 “脑筋急转弯题”，而刘墉次次都能轻松解答。到了扬州，乾隆表示想从“扬州八怪”之一的郑板桥（岳华 饰）得到四幅字画。然而，郑板桥曾拒绝为皇上作画，导致乾隆的要求变成刘墉的新考验。除了乾隆与刘墉的斗智，君臣三人在此次扬州之旅也经历了许多趣事，包括能够看穿乾隆真实身份的算命先生、歌女大凤（惠英红 饰），以及一名嘴上不留人、“奉旨”剃头的街头理发师（王沙 饰）。
