Synopsis

Lao Kai (Ye Feng), a struggling widower deeply mired in debt, is coerced by his ruthless creditor, Mrs. Lung, into managing a brothel. His three daughters, each grappling with their own dire circumstances, find themselves with no option but to work as prostitutes in the establishment. Despite flickers of hope and budding romances that offer the promise of a better life for his daughters, Lao Kai’s brothel becomes the target of ruthless gangsters demanding protection money, plunging them all into a state of fear and chaos.

In The Girlie Bar, a film marked by its sombre storyline and outcomes, Ye Feng steps into his most serious role. A departure from his typically comedic roles, the film while not a box office hit, it unequivocally underscores Ye Feng’s versatility as an actor.
