Synopsis

The Mutoscope and Biograph Collection is the oldest film collection held at Eye Filmmuseum. It includes over 200 films, most of which were made in Europe between 1897 and 1902. This constitutes the largest existing collection of Mutoscope and Biograph films surviving in the world, photographed with the unique large format 68mm Mutograph camera, which provided extraordinarily high-resolution images – some of the richest and sharpest images that film can achieve. 

This compilation of newly restored time capsules from 120 years ago showcases the first years of filmmaking. The Brilliant Biograph won ‘Best Archival Restoration and Preservation Project’ at the 2021 FOCAL International Awards.

5) You will be able to see the option to use complimentary coupons from the payment page onwards.
6) Please apply the coupons before you make your payment. In your next payment you will see that you have x number of coupons left.

Do note that Oldham Theatre does not play ads and screenings will start promptly. Doors will open 20 minutes before showtime, so arrive early to register and find a seat and to avoid disrupting the screenings. All patrons are encouraged to purchase your tickets online to be able to secure a seat. If you choose to purchase tickets or merchandise at Oldham Theatre’s box office, cashless payment is preferred.
