Film Screenings

Film screenings are held at the Auditorium at Malay Heritage Centre from 13 January – 8 February. Free with registration: https://stateofmotion.sg/2018/films/


Art Tour

An exhibition expands its dialogue through guided tours around different corners of Singapore.

Participants will be presented with a compilation of clips from the featured films before they set off on the tour. The mainland tour will take participants from the Plaza at National Library Building to five different film locations. The offshore island tour will take participants to Pulau Ubin and Pulau Sekudu, the latter a film location for Hang Tuah (1956) and Hang Jebat (1961). A site-specific artwork in response to each film awaits their encounter.

Featuring newly commissioned works by Khairulddin Wahab, Izzad Radzali Shah, Wu Jun Han, Tan Peiling, Mintio, Salleh Japar, Boedi Widjaja and akulah BIMBO SAKTI for State of Motion’s signature film location tours. Special performances by NADA, Muhammad Izdi & Zaki Razak and a theatrical piece directed by Irfan Kasban will also be presented during State of Motion 2018’s opening weekend.
