Full Synopsis
Abdulmamad Bekmamadov goes to Moscow in search of work, to provide for his family living in the far away snow-capped Pamir mountains of Tajikistan. While separated from his kin, Abdul finds solace in the traditional Pamirian music that he writes and performs, transforming the hardships of urban life and his deep yearning for home into witty and humorous, yet heartbreakingly earnest songs. Russian filmmaker Anna Moiseenko’s sensitive documentary follows Abdul’s journey as he reunites with his family after a decade to organise his daughter’s marriage.
