Synopsis

After the death of her husband, newly widowed Santosh is forced to inherit his job as a police officer out of financial necessity. Drawn into a murder case of a low-caste girl, she is mentored by the charismatic Inspector Sharma. As they race to hunt down the suspect, they must also navigate deep-seated injustices present in modern-day India.

In this searing social critique, Sandhya Suri’s debut narrative feature lays bare the misogyny, casteism, prejudice, and corruption that pervades Santosh’s new role—one that places her as observer and reactor. As the investigation unfolds, she finds herself increasingly entangled in the very system she struggles to resist.
