Full Synopsis
After winning a lottery ticket to travel abroad, Nina leaves her dingy apartment and part-time factory job in Yamato City, Japan for Singapore with her friend Su. They arrive in a cosmopolitan city much like their home country, but find themselves displaced by the short time difference and its unfamiliar landmarks. However, when Nina loses track of Su and her smartphone, she stumbles into new encounters in unwritten places from her Internet-found itinerary. Shot in a pseudo-documentary style, Tourism is a pleasantly lowkey riff on alienation and materialism sprinkled with dashes of unworldly exuberance.
