About the programme

Curated in collaboration with Hilary Yeo of MixMag Asia, Pulse/Drift traces the spectrum of electronic music and its cultural echoes across the screen. From high-BPM urban rhythms to ambient, meditative soundscapes, this diverse curation contrasts the visceral energy of fast-paced narratives with the slow, immersive pull of ambient and artful storytelling shaped by sound and music. The programme features full-length films, documentaries, and experimental shorts that celebrate the sonic architects shaping the region’s evolving audiovisual and underground cultures.

Pulse/Drift runs from 1 – 23 November 2025 at Oldham Theatre.

About the Curator

Mixmag Asia is the leading club culture and electronic music platform for creators, thought leaders, fans, brands, and industry insiders, establishing Asia as its own dance floor.

Hilary Yeo is an artist and the digital content strategist for Mixmag Asia, as well as the curator of Pulse/Drift. Rooted in her deep connection to the region’s creative community, her curation explores the intimate ties between sound and identity across Asia.

About Reframe

An initiative by the Asian Film Archive (AFA), Reframe is a salon series that aims to bring together diverse audiences and the film community at large through an innovative range of programmes, encouraging dialogue and examining topics surrounding cinema and the moving image.

By asking the hard questions and re-looking at trends and issues critically, the series will construct meaningful frameworks that bring forth multi-perspective viewpoints and an increased appreciation of film and culture.

Do note that Oldham Theatre operates on a free seating arrangement. Doors will open 20 minutes before showtime so arrive early to choose a seat and avoid disrupting the screenings as AFA does not play ads and screenings will start promptly.

All patrons are encouraged to purchase your tickets online. If you choose to purchase tickets or merchandise at Oldham Theatre’s box office, cashless payment is preferred.
