Raised in Japan by his single father, young ramen chef Masato discovers his late Singaporean mother’s journal and embarks on a culinary adventure to trace his familial roots. He encounters a colourful cast of characters, each offering insights into his parents’ lives and the cultural complexities between Japan and Singapore. As Masato delves deeper into his family’s history, he discovers the power of food to bridge divides and bring people together.

Ramen Teh is Singaporean director Eric Khoo’s eighth feature and it premiered as the closing film of the Culinary Cinema section at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2018.
