Considered the first Thai film noir, Black Silk was among the first Thai films that were screened at international film festivals, including the 11th Berlin International Film Festival. In 2020, the Thai Film Archive completed a 4K restoration of the film using the original 35mm negative. The restored film was selected for Cannes Classics at the 73rd Cannes Film Festival.
