Widely considered as important work of Singapore cinema, this diverse panel will delve into Mee Pok Man significance in film and society and also attempt to explore its lasting influence and relevance today.

Liew Kai Khiun
An academic teaching and researching on media and cultural studies at the Nanyang Technological University, Dr Liew Kai Khiun has been researching and participating in Singapore’s film history and culture for more than a decade. He has a course dedicated to the study of film and history in Singapore as well as an upcoming edited book on the collection of essays on new perspectives on Singapore Cinema. He is currently embarking on a project to examine old cinema spaces in Singapore and Malaysia as well as South Korea.
Alan Oei
Alan Oei is an artist-curator whose work and projects focuses on art history, politics and community. He was the former Artistic Director for Sculpture Square from 2012 to 2014 and currently serves as the Artistic Director at The Substation. He remains the co-founder and executive director of OH! Open House.
Martyn See
Martyn See is a freelance video editor for more than 20 years. He has worked on four Jack Neo films and a range of TV programs for various networks. He is also a political documentary filmmaker. Mee Pok Man was his first feature film.
