Napat leaves home hastily after receiving a mysterious phone call on his wedding night. When he does not return, his wife Sipang goes to the police and contacts her brother-in-law, Chatchai, who appears nonchalant about his missing brother. She befriends Busaba, Chatchai’s reserved and timid wife whom she realises is in an abusive marriage. As the search for Napat drags on, Sipang uncovers some disturbing truths about her husband’s past.
One Night Husband is the debut feature film by Pimpaka Towira, one of the few female directors in the Thai film industry. The film made its premiere at the 2003 Berlin International Film Festival.
