Just as Mickey Mouse is an iconic figure in the United States and Tintin is adored in France, there is no character more closely associated with Hong Kong and more beloved than Old Master Q, affectionately known as Mr Funny Bone. In this cinematic adaptation, Wang Sha takes on the role of the Confucius-like figure, embarking on a series of delightful and episodic misadventures alongside his loyal sidekick, Big Potato. Like the comic series, Mr Funny Bone is smitten with his colleague, Miss Chen, and engages in playful flirting. However, he must contend with the unwelcome affection of his rotund cousin.

Wang Sha is the third actor in cinematic history to portray the titular character in live-action, and his performance was praised by the comic creator, Alfonso Wong, as the most accurate and faithful portrayal of the character. This expertly cast film adaptation achieved remarkable success, leading to the creation of the sequel, Mr Funny Bone Strikes Again.
