Synopsis

In this 4K restoration, Frederick Wiseman’s rarely seen documentary provides an unvarnished examination of the repetitive, systematic labor that underpins the construction of America’s manufactured ideals of dreams and fantasy. Through Wiseman’s candid lens, the film interrogates how personal identity becomes increasingly entwined with how we are perceived in a culture obsessed with surface and spectacle.
