About the Talk

Comic relief in essence means to make light of a situation, and making light of a situation implies a conscious effort to uplift something—a condition, a mood, a topic—that is weighing someone down. Join Assistant Professor Yeo Min Hui in a conversation on why “comic relief” is an apt framework through which to present and articulate Wang Sha and Ye Feng’s lives as film personalities.

This free event is organised by the Asian Film Archive as part of Retrospective: Wang Sha & Ye Feng. Please register your place by clicking Get Tickets.

Along with the accompanying exhibition Comic Relief, screenings run until 7 April 2024 at Oldham Theatre. Get tickets and learn more.
