Synopsis

A portrait of Lee Chang Dong, regarded as one of the most essential and significant Korean auteurs. The film employs a reverse chronological narrative order, commencing with Lee’s latest film Burning and retracing his journey as a filmmaker. Through the deliberate selection of locations from key scenes in Lee’s oeuvre, Lee is given the space to delve into the backstory and memories behind these scenes, offering a comprehensive insight into the intricacies of his works and their execution. This documentary serves as a comprehensive survey of Lee’s filmography, while also delving into his filmmaking philosophy.
