Based on the lives of Mumbai street rappers, this fun coming-of-age musical centres on Murad (Ranveer Singh), a business student with a passion for hip-hop. Being from the slums, he maintains a secret inter-caste romance with upper-class Safeena (Alia Bhatt), and is pressured by his parents to achieve white-collar success. One day, at a university jam session, Murad is inspired by a local rapper to pursue a hip-hop career. After gaining recognition for his skills at a rap contest, he sets out on a journey to realise his dream, despite his family’s objections and Safeena’s possessiveness. As Murad goes from rapping on the streets to the big stage, the film provides us with an exhilarating look into India’s growing hip-hop culture.
