What lies out there amongst the stars? 

We have all seen the headlines: “UFO Footage Revealed”, “Government Cover-Ups Leaked”, and who can forget “Storm Area 51”? Coupled with a slew of sci-fi blockbusters centered around extraterrestrials, this media frenzy reflects, perhaps, a simple fact that our daily existence has begun to feel increasingly alien. Someone has to be causing all these environmental catastrophes, widespread conflict and growing instability, right? 

By turning our gaze to the intergalactic ‘other’ — projecting onto the unsuspecting scapegoat from a galaxy far far away — we embark on an eclectic cinematic voyage to untangle the mysteries within ourselves. From fantastical mockumentaries to bewildering body-horror cult classics, these films collectively draw on the premise of interstellar mystery to dissect the human experience, where love, existential dread, hope, desire and trauma contribute to life on our tiny blue (or green) planet.

Do note that Oldham Theatre does not play ads and screenings will start promptly. Doors will open 20 minutes before showtime, so arrive early to register and find a seat. Arrive early so as not to disrupt the screenings. All patrons are encouraged to purchase your tickets online to be able to secure a seat. If you choose to purchase tickets or merchandise at Oldham Theatre’s box office, cashless payment is preferred.
