The debut narrative feature from director Gao Ming, Damp Season observes a young couple as they drift apart, searching for meaning and connection over a rainy summer in Shenzhen, China. A brooding Dong works as a security guard in an abandoned waterpark, with dreams of someday performing as Sun Wukong (The Monkey King), while Juan, an independent and headstrong flower arranger wishes to run her own business. Engulfed by the heady and unceasing humidity, they yearn for dry land as they escape into fantasy and the comfort of strangers.
