Synopsis
Stranded and shipwrecked, a young Rohingya refugee from Myanmar seeks asylum in a provision shop belonging to an elderly widow on the shores of Pulau Ubin, off mainland Singapore. An unlikely bond develops between them despite their linguistic and cultural differences as the old lady begins to care for the starving child—feeding, washing, and clothing her.

Dahdi, which translates to ‘grandma’ in Rohingya, explores a motherly instinct that transcends tribes, language, and culture.
