Full Synopsis

Bar 21 tells the story of Linda, a naive bar hostess from Bangkok who seeks love and acceptance. On her way home after being rejected by her exploitative boyfriend, she becomes the key witness of a murder and is instrumental to clearing the name of the social elite arrested for the murder. She is pressured to decide between implicating the people who have helped her, or to allow the murderer to get off scot-free, in exchange for a better life.

The Thai musical film was adapted from the 1946 French play, The Respectable Prostitute, by Jean-Paul Sartre, and its musical sequences were inspired by Bob Fosse’s 1972 film Cabaret.
