On the cusp of Turkey’s 2014 presidential election, an amateur psychedelic rock band from bohemian Istanbul embarks on a tour around mainland Anatolia in their VW van, hoping to share their love and music with fellow countrymen. Fueled by hope for a better world and an appreciation for ’70s Anatolian rock, they give free impromptu concerts as they pass through each city, rolling from one encounter to the next. Between late-night conversations, rallies and cheap motels, we follow these well-meaning young men as they interact with inquiring old women, depressed teenagers, earnest cabbies, and baffled security guards. But as they cross mountains and plains, and electoral updates point to an ever more precarious future, the band finds itself moving towards an increasingly uncertain destination.
