An early work by Malaysian director Tan Chui Mui, A Tree in Tanjong Malim won the Principal Award at the 51st Oberhausen International Short Film Festival in 2005.


The Beautiful Losers (2015)

A loosely connected sequel to A Tree in Tanjung Malim, Fei returns to Malaysia with the hope of opening a café after a failed music career in Taiwan. She meets with Pete, an old friend who had recently closed his music bar. He brings her to a junkyard to hunt for furniture.

Do note that Oldham Theatre operates on a free seating arrangement. Doors will open 20 minutes before showtime so arrive early to choose a seat and avoid disrupting the screenings as AFA does not play ads and screenings will start promptly.
