Pause. And Breathe.: Video Works by Victric Thng – Requiem For A Somnambulist

“Pause. And Breathe.” is a series of 6 mini videos that seek to get in touch with our sub-consciousness. A sort of quiet-loud, a random play
with speed, space and sound. Each short illustrates the beauty of brevity. Open for interpretation, open for imagination. “Pause. And
Breathe.” reminds us the rhythm of our breathing, the tempo of our heartbeat. So, pause, and breathe.

Video #1 – Requiem for a Somnambulist (A Portrait of Sleeplessness)

She opens and closes her eyes,
In an almost rhythmic manner,
As if she is breathing through them.

Fell into a spell of a deep sleep . . .
A realm of darkness, an eternal wakefulness.
There she drifts, like a wind, formless.

And there she stands at the edge of dreamscape,
Like a norturnal bird, peering down into the lake,
A need to be rescued. She wept.
