In a dystopic world where the labour of children twelve years old and above is legitimised, merry morticians Roger and Kiat, his apprentice, find their lives spinning out of control when Grace, a young pleasure worker, hides in their van and begs to stay with them. A nascent romance blooms between Kiat and Grace, making Kiat neglect his apprenticeship while Roger struggles with being a responsible adult and not giving in to his forbidden desires that are voiced by a talking corpse. Torn between jealousy and desire, Roger takes Grace out of their lives, maims himself to cover up the truth and reclaims his apprentice for himself, as the final act of abandoning his morality and principles in this gritty tale of love, deceit and betrayal.
